Metro Aviation started in 1982 when Mike Stanberry and his business partner sought to fill the need of getting folks to job sites quicker than their cars could... which led to the purchase of helicopters, a training school and flying Santa Claus around Baton Rouge.

Eventually Metro grew into the largest traditional air medical operator and the largest air medical completion center in the world.
